Cysts can occur in various parts of our body. The oral cavity is one of them. We perform surgical removal of cysts in the jaw professionally and with high expertise. By cysts we mean single- or multi-chamber, originally non-existent cavities in bones or soft tissues with a pustular or initially liquid content. The diagnosis is almost always made by means of X-ray. The location of a cyst can be deduced in a certain way, but a clear conclusion is reached only after a post-operative examination of the tissue. They often appear as secondary findings during root tip resections or dental extractions.
Course of the procedure
The procedure can be done under general anaesthesia or without anaesthesia, depending on the finding of the cyst, after a previous pre-operative examination. In the case of general anaesthesia, the patient undergoes pre-operative examinations (internal and anaesthesiological). In the case of a cyst, after cutting the surface, the entire cyst is removed, including the lining (the membrane that forms the sheath of the cyst).
